Commercial plaza sold

Four Corners Property Trust of California purchased a property at 240 Central St. featuring a 15,000-square-foot commercial plaza for $2.01 million from Shore Capital Real Estate Partners Holdco LLC, a Chicago-based entity managed by Justin Ishiba and Steve Malley.

DEVENS

DEC highlights progress

The Devens Enterprise Commission released a draft of its five-year review report during its July 28 meeting, covering the period of time from 2021 to 2025. The report highlights $2 billion of combined investments made in the King Street Properties Pathway Devens and Commonwealth Fusion Systems campuses, the reduction of average permitting time from 71 days in 2022 to 51 days in 2024-2025, and the state’s lifting of the 282-unit housing cap and commercial square footage cap in late 2024. FRAMINGHAM

Varsity lease

Varsity Movers of Hopkinton signed a new lease for 481 square feet of office space at 1671 Worcester Road, Framingham from Worcester 1671 Limited Partnership of Shrewsbury. James Cannon and Matt Cuneo of NAI | Parsons Commercial Group – Boston in Natick served as the tenant representatives in this transaction.

HOLLISTON

Washington St. sale

Wash800 LLC, a Holiston-based entity managed by Christopher Leoncini, purchased a property at 800 Washington St., featuring a 9,152-square-foot, mixed-use building for $1.42 million from Linda Claffey of Holliston. Thomas Mario of Century 21 Mario Real Estate in East Boston served as the listing broker for this transaction.

MILLBURY

Expanding animal hospital

The Millbury Zoning Board of Appeals approved a special permit on July 29, for Millbury-based Riverlin Associates LLC to build a new veterinary animal hospital facility at 211 Riverlin St. The project will see Riverlin Animal Hospital, already operating nearby at 287 Riverlin St, build a new 4,000-square-foot building to accommodate the business’ growth.

SHREWSBURY

Ginger ale replacement

Spagtacular has received Shrewsbury Planning Board approval during its June 4 meeting for the commercial phase of a 25-acre redevelopment at 335 Maple Ave., the former Chelmsford Ginger Ale bottling plant site. The nearly 10-acre commercial component of the development would connect to Route 9. It calls for seven standalone pads totaling about 23,760 square feet, including drive-through restaurants, retail space, a bank and a car wash. The commercial approval is separate from the developers’ pending proposal for 270 apartments on the rear portion of the property. Spagtacular is owned by Shrewsbury developer Sam Adams.

WORCESTER

Taco Bell moving forward

Tennessee-based fast casual restaurant franchise operator Charter Foods received a special permit from the Worcester Zoning Board of Appeals during its Aug. 10 meeting, allowing it to construct a 2,250-square-foot Taco Bell location at 79 Pullman St. The parcel is split between ML-0.5 and MG-0.5 zoning, both of which require a special permit for a drive-thru food service use. Charter needed approval to construct a 214-foot drive-thru lane, shorter than the required 240 feet. When opened, the 79 Pullman St. location will be Taco Bell’s fourth in the city.

Extended-stay hotel delay

Maryland-based Park Silver Development received approval from the Worcester Planning Board on Aug. 5 for a two-year extension to a site plan originally issued by the board in January 2025. The site plan was for an extended-stay hotel Park Silver is looking to build on an undeveloped lot on Providence Street. City staff speaking at the meeting said the project is still moving forward, but that Park Silver was awaiting the issuing of a building permit for the project, necessitating the extension.
