Leadership and culture consulting firm Promoting Good will mark the beginning of its 10th year with an interactive, art-based leadership event and awards ceremony on Oct. 1.
Dubbed the Day of Good, the firm is accepting nominations for leaders who exhibit empathy and courage. Between two and four awards will be given out in either category.
The categories are the result of surveying stakeholders regarding what kind of leadership they feel is most needed in this moment, said Valerie Zolezzi-Wyndham, the founder and CEO of Promoting Good.
“Our hopes for this event are one, to demonstrate that despite the external noise and negativity and threats to the work, that there are leaders in our community who are continuing to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion values,” Zolezzi-Wyndham said Tuesday.
Beyond that, she said, Promoting Good aims to engage the community in thinking about how to live those values in their day to day work.
Nominations are open to anyone who feels compelled to put a name forward, and will remain open until Aug. 15. Attendance is also open to anyone who feels compelled to attend.
Judges for the award include Tod Wiesman, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, Liz Wambui, director of diversity, inclusion, and community impact at construction firm Fontaine Bros. in Worcester, and Giselle Rivera-Flores, chief external affairs officer at the Worcester Community Action Council.
