Profits, Revenues Surge For EMC

Revenues for Hopkinton-based data storage giant EMC increased 18 percent year-over-year to $4.98 billion in the third quarter, while profits rose 28 percent to $606 million.

Through the first nine months of the year, the company has made a $605.6 million profit on $14.4 billion in revenues.

The company expects its full-year revenues to exceed its original estimate of $19.8 billion.

Revenues in the company’s storage division rose 16 percent to $3.65 billion, while revenues for VMWare, of which EMC is part owner, rose 32 percent to $940 million. Revenues for the company’s security division – RSA – rose 16 percent to $214 million.
