Nurse hiring on the rise

The Massachusetts Hospital Association reported that registered nurses were hired in record numbers last year, outpacing growth in patient volume.

An MHA report showed that hospitals increased the ranks of RNs by nearly 6 percent, the largest single year increase in more than a decade.

The MHA also found that nurse salaries are on the rise, increasing 32 percent since 2002.
