Altus Dental Insurance Co., the largest dental PPO network in Massachusetts, increased its membership by 45 percent last year.
The Providence-based group provides dental coverage for more than 60,000 people throughout Massachusetts.
In 2006, Altus created a partnership with Health New England to administer pediatric dental benefits to more than 9,000 children. The group also created plans for the towns of Attleboro, Ayer, Beverly, Groton and Peabody.
The Altus network includes nearly 3,500 locations across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including close to 400 locations added last year.
Altus processed 1.4 million claims in 2006, with a financial accuracy rate of 99.7 percent in payments.
Dr. Sharon A. Trahan, owner of Attleboro Falls Family Dentistry, was recently named dental director for Altus.
