New Worcester conference to promote inclusive leadership

A new conference on inclusive leadership is coming to Worcester with the April commencement of The Flourish Summit, an eight-hour event aimed at preparing professionals for the future workforce.

The Flourish Summit will feature keynote speakers, a panel discussion, interactive workshops, and networking sessions centered around the topics of self-leadership, belonging, and financial prosperity, according to a press release from The Flourish Summit.

The conference will take place starting at 8 a.m. on April 9 at the Hogan Campus Center at the College of the Holy Cross.

The Flourish Summit is the brainchild of Sonia Sharma, a former WBJ 40 Under Forty honoree, who previously worked for Dell Technologies in Hopkinton before becoming an independent Marketing consultant and global customer engagement strategist.

“The Flourish Summit is about creating an ambitious, human space where people can build the skills and relationships they  need to lead in a rapidly changing world,” Sharma said in the release. “Our goal is to make  inclusive leadership and well-being tangible, actionable, and  accessible for the region’s current and emerging leaders.”

The intergenerational conference is designed for professionals at all stages in their careers, including entrepreneurs, students, and community builders, according to the summit’s Eventbrite page.

Speakers and panelists include speaker and author Maria Milagros Vazquez, accredited financial advisor Tess Waresmith, therapist Kimatra Maxwell, and Worcester creative agency co-founder Timothy Hally, who like Sharma is a WBJ 40 Under Forty alumnus.

Tickets for the event start at $85.86 and can be purchased here.

Mica Kanner-Mascolo is a staff writer at Worcester Business Journal, who primarily covers the healthcare, manufacturing, and higher education industries.
