According to the results of a recent Robert Half International survey, workers think job orientation programs are very effective, but a third of companies offer no such program.
Businesses want new staff to “hit the ground running,” according to Half, an international staffing firm, but may be hindering employees by not offering enough resources during those important first days on the job.
While 33 percent of respondents said they were offered no formal orientation program whatsoever, 45 percent of those who said they had taken part in an orientation program said it was “very effective.” Forty-two percent said it was “somewhat effective.”
