New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill in Boylston has hired FRED WHEELER as its new facilities director. In his new role, Wheeler will manage facility enhancement projects and work to grow the organization’s capacity to accommodate more visitors. Most recently, Wheeler worked at nonprofit The Arc of Opportunity in Fitchburg for 30 years.
KARA WIERSMA has been promoted to vice president of talent and organizational development at Worcester-based Cornerstone Bank. In her new role, Wiersma will provide onboarding, leadership development, and executive coaching while supporting merger integration. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Boston University.
Kathryn BurnsKATHRYN BURNS has been appointed chair of the nominating/governance committee at Framingham-based MutualOne Bank. Burns serves as an executive leadership coach at Harvard Business School in Boston and joined MutualOne's board in 2024. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Tufts University in Medford and with her master’s degree from Harvard Business School.
Amber RodriguezAMBER RODRIGUEZ has been appointed assistant branch manager of Oxford-based bankHometown’s Killingly, Connecticut, office. In her new capacities, Rodriguez will support daily branch operations, assist in leading customer services efforts, and collaborate with bank leadership to strengthen customer relations. She comes to bankHometown having most recently worked at Boston-based Beacon Bank as a personal banking representative.
