Mass. gas prices at lowest level since 2009

Massachusetts gas prices have fallen to their lowest level since the spring of 2009.

AAA Northeast reported Monday that dropping crude oil prices and strong supplies are keeping prices low.

The organization’s weekly survey determined a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gas was averaging $2.04, down 2 cents from last week.

Survey takers found gas for as low as $1.92 and as high was $2.49. A year ago, gas was averaging $2.68 per gallon in Massachusetts.
