Marlborough’s ConnectM buys Maryland defense contractor

ConnectM Technology Solutions in Marlborough kept up its acquisition streak with the purchase of Harry Kahn Associates, a defense contractor in Maryland.

ConnectM entered into this deal with HKA on March 10, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

HKA provides military and commercial technical data development support services, including technical manual and training material development and systems engineering support, according to its website. The firm serves U.S. defense agencies, including the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

“HKA brings ConnectM a rare combination of long-standing government relationships, deep domain expertise in logistics data systems, and decades of experience supporting U.S. military platforms,” Bhaskar Panigrahi, ConnectM chairman and CEO, said in a Wednesday press release.

ConnectM purchased HKA for 400,000 shares of its common stock, with 200,000 each going to HKA’s co-owners William Mumma and Phillip Perry, according to the filing. ConnectM’s stock was trading at 25 cents per share Friday afternoon.

WBJ has reached out to ConnectM to confirm the transaction’s value.

ConnectM will combine HKA with its Keen Labs subsidiary, an AI-focused company dedicated to innovation and tech product development. ConnectM expects the acquisition will broaden its reach in the government and defense markets, including predictive maintenance, AI-assisted logistics planning, and digital technical documentation.

“With the addition of HKA, ConnectM gains access to decades of structured operational data supporting complex defense platforms,” Panigrahi said. “We believe Keen Labs’ AI platform can unlock additional value from these datasets, enabling new analytics capabilities for large-scale infrastructure systems.”

Founded in 1943, HKA generated approximately $2 million in revenue in 2025, according to the release.

The acquisition follows ConnectM’s purchase of India-based hybrid battery technology company Amperics and Geo Impex & Logistics in November.
