Lunenberg man to head state apprentice program

The state has named Lunenberg carpenter David Wallace as director of the state Division of Apprentice Training.

David Wallace will be expected to “increase the level of apprentice training in Massachusetts,” said Suzanne Bump, state secretary of labor and workforce development.

Wallace is a trustee of the New England Carpenters Pension, Annuity and Health Funds. He began his career as a carpenter in Newton, and has held leadership positions with the carpenters union in several Massachsuetts communities.
