Hopkinton-based Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects announced the pending retirement of its longtime leader, as the firm elevated three directors to partner status.
As GRLA marks its 50th anniversary, President Scott Richardson will retire at the end of the year, according to a Monday company announcement.
A member of the WBJ Hall of Fame, Richardson co-founded GRLA in 1976 alongside Michael Gorman, eventually growing the firm to 30 employees and $5.7 million in revenue as of 2025, according to information provided to the WBJ Research Department.
“Building this firm has been one of the great privileges of my life,” Richardson said in the announcement. “What makes me most proud is not the buildings we’ve designed, but the talented people, lasting relationships, and strong culture we’ve built along the way. I am incredibly confident in the future of GRLA and the leadership team that will guide it forward.”
In tandem with Richardson’s retirement, the firm announced Director of Architecture Marc DiPilato, Director of Finance Skye Jensen, and Director of Building Envelope Sciences Chris Paszko will assume ownership roles as partners in 2027.
Combined, DiPilato, Jensen and Paszko have 46 years at the firm, with DiPilato having been at GRLA since 1999.
The firm will announce new leadership titles for the three at year’s end, according to Leigh Walker, director of marketing and communications for the firm.
GRLA will continue operating under the same name from its Hopkinton headquarters.
