IT staff could use brush-up

There’s always room for improvement for any employee in any job, but a recent Robert Half Technology survey found that many CIOs think their IT staffs’ technical abilities could be better.

Half, an international staffing agency, said job requirements for IT staff change as technology changes, but some may not be keeping up.

Twenty-five percent of the 1,400 CIOs surveyed ranked technical skills as the area in which their IT staff could use the most improvement.

Project management abilities ranked second with 23 percent of the response.

Other categories in the survey were verbal and written communication abilities, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
