Hudson commercial landscaper acquired by NY firm

Hudson-based Unisource Commercial Landscaping has been acquired by Riverview Landscapes.

Unisource will become the Boston MetroWest branch of the New York-based firm.

Under the purchase agreement announced Tuesday, Riverview will acquire all of Unisource’s commercial landscaping, snow management, and facility services in addition to the firm’s managed services division, according to a Riverview press release.

“Joining Riverview provides our employees with new growth opportunities and gives our customers access to expanded capabilities and resources,” Unisource Co-Founder Brady Otey said in the release. “We’re confident this partnership positions the business for long-term success.”

WBJ has reached out to Unisource to confirm the acquisition price and to ask if any Unisource employees will be laid off as a result of the purchase.

Riverview will turn Unisource’s commercial landscaping and cleaning operations into the firm’s new Boston MetroWest branch and Unisource’s managed services into a new Riverview Managed Services branch, becoming the landscaper’s third and fourth New England branches.

“Unisource brings an outstanding team, strong customer relationships, and a differentiated managed services capability that expands the solutions we can provide to multi-location commercial clients,” Riverview CFO Liam Burrell said in the release.

Founded in 1985, Unisource provides commercial landscaping, pest management, irrigation installation, snow management, and parking area maintenance to industries including educational institutions, business parks, and hospitals.

Based in Hudson, Unisource operates another Massachusetts office in Brockton, as well as locations in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire.
