Newton-based National Development has received approval to redevelop a 148-acre former Intel campus in Hudson into a flexible site for nearly 1 million square feet of industrial or manufacturing space.
National Development received approval for its plans for the site at 75 Reed Road at a Hudson Planning Board meeting Thursday. The permitting framework will allow the property to be built to suit and support a range of manufacturing or logistics uses, the company announced Monday.
The company is proposing a single 950,000-square-foot building with 177 loading bays, 415 trailer parking spaces, and 482 parking spaces for cars.
The site is less than two miles from I-495 and has an industrial workforce of more than 34,000 within a half-hour drive. Construction will begin once a tenant is secured.
Intel sold the site to National Development in November 2023 for $12 million, after a former attempt to redevelop the site was blocked. Intel has been leasing the site used as a research and manufacturing facility, but exited it in May, ending its over 25-year tenure at the campus.
National Development first pitched its own plans for the site in November, after demolition began after Intel’s exit.
The property was assessed at $14.06 million in 2026, down from $23.16 million in 2023, according to Town of Hudson property records.
