A HomeGoods location is coming to The Shops at Highland Commons, on the border of Hudson and Berlin.
The retailer focused on home decor and furniture has inked a deal for retail space at the shopping center located off Coolidge Street, according to a memorandum of the lease filed with the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds.Â
Notices of leases are required to be filed with the local registry of deeds in Massachusetts when they are for a term of seven or more years, according to state law.
The space, just under 25,000 square feet, was formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond, which closed in 2023 as part of that company’s bankruptcy. The space is located in the Hudson part of the complex.
The plaza was developed and is owned by Benderson Development Co. of Florida, with Boston-based Atlantic Retail handling tenant leasing, according to real estate data firm CoStar. Â
Homegood is owned by Framingham-based TJX Cos., the parent company of other firms like TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

A TJ Maxx location already operates from the shopping center, along with anchor tenants like Tewksbury-based Market Basket and Nebraska-based Cabela’s.
TJX Cos. did not respond to a WBJ phone message seeking details on the store’s opening date. The Hudson store does not appear on its website’s list of upcoming grand openings, which includes two stores slated to open in March elsewhere.Â
Existing Central Massachusetts HomeGoods stores operate in Worcester, Acton, Framingham, Leominster, Milford, Millbury and Northborough, part of 36 locations across the state.Â
