At the end of March, there were 2.7 million job openings in the United States, a very slight increase over the previous month, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Employers hired 4.24 million people during the month, up from 4 million during February.
However, the rate of job openings, about 2 percent, was unchanged during March compared to February.
The separation rate, about 3.1 percent, was also unchanged.
