Manufacturers that want to improve their sustainability can find help through a new initiative from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The Sustainable Manufacturing Initiative provides links to federal and state programs that can help manufacturers with “lean and green assessments,” training and financial assistance. It also offers guidance on metrics that companies can use to analyze their performance.
By October, the department also plans to offer a training program to help employees in all areas of a company improve their sustainability efforts.
