Massachusetts hospitals, health care workers and patients are speaking out against proposed federal health care funding cuts.
High profile organizations including the Massachusetts Hospital Association, the Service Employees International Union 1199 and the Massachusetts Medical Society were scheduled to hold a press conference this morning to oppose proposed reductions to Medicare and Medicaid funding for hospitals.
The organizations said hospitals are already being pushed hard to reduce their costs and that funding cuts could hurt the state’s progress toward universal health coverage.
