The Worcester-based Hanover Insurance Group announced plans to acquire The Campania Group, a Virginia company that specializes in insurance for the health industry.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed and are subject to regulatory review, but Hanover expects the deal to close by the end of the first quarter.
Campania offers insurance programs for healthcare providers, medical equipment companies and behavioral health specialists. The company serves about 3,000 providers in 30 states.
Last month Hanover announced plans to expand into seven western states.
