White-label gummy and candy manufacturer Sky Nutro is moving its headquarters from Southbridge to Milford, a move the company says will cost $12 million and allow it to add 120 jobs.
Sky Nutro has received $1.8 million in tax credits from the Massachusetts Economic Assistance Coordinating Council in support of the move, according to a June 24 announcement from the state.
The company plans to lease about 93,000 square feet of space at 5-7 Industrial Road in Milford, the former site of a cannabis cultivation facility, according to meeting minutes from the May 19 Milford Select Board meeting.
That site had been home to a 217,800-square-foot cultivation facility run by Miami-based Ayr Wellness, which closed in August amid wider financial struggles at that firm.
Sky Nutro’s will leave its 22,000-square-foot facility at 65 Moon St. in Southbridge and spend $12 million on renovations in Milford, said Co-Founder Nate Spock. The company expects to complete the move to Milford by fall.
The move will create 120 new permanent jobs with salaries ranging from $75,000 to $90,000. In addition to the new jobs, 20 current Sky Nutro employees are expected to follow the company to Milford.
Sky Nutro is a contract manufacturer that produces white-label gummies and other products for sale under other companies' brands. Those products include supplement gummies, low-sugar gummies, tinctures, and other food and healthcare products, according to its website.
The company was co-founded by Spock and Paul Barstow in 2021.
