Westborough-based energy utility National Grid has signed a 20-year lease for a 312,000-square-foot building at Reservoir Woods East in Waltham.
The building, which will be LEED Gold certified for environmental sustainability, will be ready to occupy in mid-2009. Construction is set to begin in mid-February. Combined, Reservoir Woods East and West is a 120-acre office park with a wooded, campus-like setting near the Massachusetts Turnpike, Route 2 and Route 128. The park includes the corporate headquarters of Raytheon Corp. and is owned by David Marcus Partners.
Brokers with Jones Lang LaSalle and CB Richard Ellis finalized the National Grid lease.
National Grid announced its plans to move its U.S. headquarters from Westborough to Waltham in December 2007.
