For business owners who don’t yet have a website, Google announced it will offer a free website, training, domain name and hosting for one year through a partnership with Intuit.
While 97 percent of web users search for local products online, only 62 percent of small businesses don’t have a website, limiting their exposure to customers, according to Google.
“The perception that getting online is complex, costly and time-consuming has prevented many Massachusetts small businesses from taking the first step,” said Scott Levitan, Google’s director of small business engagement.
Google has launched similar programs across the country.
