GBH News will move its Worcester bureau to the Worcester Public Library’s main branch at 3 Salem Square.
Previously, the GBH Worcester outpost was located at 27 Federal St.
The move is a way for the bureau, which is for one full-time reporter, to more closely connect with locals, the Boston radio and news service announced on Wednesday.
“Being embedded in the Worcester Public Library allows us to be exactly where the community gathers,” Dan Lothian, editor-in-chief of GBH News and The World, said in the announcement.
GBH announced it was opening a Worcester bureau in 2020, citing a desire to expand its statewide coverage. The Worcester Business Development Corp. in January listed the former GBH space at 27 Federal St. for lease.
