Built on endurance, leadership, innovation, and a long-standing commitment to serving customers the right way, Ford’s Hometown Services (FHS) is a four-generation family company grounded in more than just professional expertise.
Since 1941, FHS has grown from a small Central Massachusetts operation into one of the region’s most respected names in pest management and turf care. Through hard work, technical knowledge, and hands-on leadership, the company has built a reputation for dependable service, strong customer relationships, and the ability to evolve without losing its core values.
What sets FHS apart is not only its longevity, but also the depth and professionalism of its services. The company has expanded well beyond traditional pest control to include termite services, turf management, tick and mosquito programs, trapping, bat and wildlife exclusion, and advanced customer care systems. This steady growth allows FHS to meet changing customer needs while maintaining the accountability, pride, and personal service of a family-owned business. Equally important is an outstanding, positive culture for employees that emphasizes teamwork, loyalty, training, pride in workmanship, and long-term commitment.
The Ford family has shaped the company’s success across generations, beginning with founder George Ford, Sr. His son, George Ford, Jr., helped expand the business and establish it as a trusted Worcester-area institution during his leadership from 1974 to 2018.
Innovation and Excellence
Company president Christopher Ford has led a new era of innovation and technical advancement, particularly within the turf division. Under his leadership, FHS introduced core aeration and seeding, soil testing and analysis, an organic lawn care program, the Tick Only Control Program, the Tick & Mosquito “Combo Program,” and the Hydretain Moisture Management Turf Program. These additions have enhanced turf results and expanded value for customers.
Christopher Ford has also brought significant professional credentials to the company, including accreditation in Organic Land Care, Pollinator Protector Certification, and National Turf Certification through the University of Georgia.
FHS has earned notable industry recognition as well. The company is Quality Pro Accredited, meeting 16 standards covering safety, human resources, consumer relations, and environmental stewardship—an honor achieved by only about three percent of pest control companies nationwide. FHS has also received the Better Business Bureau’s Marketplace Excellence Award and was named Best of Central Mass from 2017 through 2025.
Looking Ahead
FHS continues to modernize while staying true to its roots. In 2022, Christopher Ford implemented a comprehensive CRM system that streamlined scheduling, billing, marketing, customer communications, HR, payroll, and sales. In 2025, with contributions from the next generation—Jake and Luke Ford—the company adopted AI platforms to enhance customer service, marketing, and training, further strengthening efficiency and consistency.
Today, Ford’s Hometown Services reflects the best of a family business: established yet forward-looking, personal yet highly professional. Backed by four generations of leadership, FHS continues to protect homes, improve properties, and build lasting customer relationships through hard work, integrity, innovation, and pride in the family name.
