First-Time Jobless Claims Jump Again

In the week ended April 12, 372,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment insurance benefits for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor .

That’s an increase of 17,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 355,000. The 4-week moving average was 376,000, a decrease of 750 from the previous week.
