First panels on grid for Hudson energy biz

The Alternative Energy Store in Hudson recently finished a hands-on course on the concept and installation of solar electric panels by putting three on the roof of its headquarters.

The course sought to familiarize electricians, contractors and people with a basic understanding of renewable energy systems with how panels work and are installed.

The panels on the store’s building are said to be the first solar electric power system connected to Hudson Power’s electric network. The company, which used to be in Worcester, said the panels should offset a “significant portion” of the office’s electricity consumption.
