Editor looks forward to telling stories that resonate with the business community

All over Central Massachusetts, businesses are thriving, entrepreneurs are taking risks and decision-makers are shaping the future of the local economy.

What is happening across the business landscape? Which companies are expanding their workforces and which are cutting jobs? Who is investing in the region? What is driving growth in Central Massachusetts, and what are the headwinds holding back some industries?

The Worcester Business Journal will tell those stories. We will break business news and engage our readers through comprehensive reporting. We will not only report what happens in the business community, but explain why and what factors are at play.

As the recently named editor of the Worcester Business Journal, I understand our mission is to deliver news that business-minded people across Central Massachusetts cannot get anywhere else. The WBJ will continue to be the leading source of business news in Central Mass.

I have spent my journalism career in a variety of roles, from reporting news and writing columns to editing copy and managing news teams.

I worked at the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester in several positions, including local desk chief, business editor and managing editor. As business editor, I conceived, managed and contributed to the award-winning Remaking Worcester series, a yearlong investigative look at economic development in the city. The project was a deep dive into downtown Worcester, CitySquare, real estate, restaurants, rental housing, transportation, neighborhoods, and arts and entertainment.

In addition, I managed news coverage of the Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate’s move from Pawtucket to Worcester and the development of Polar Park in Kelley Square.

Most recently, I was the managing editor of Northeastern Global News on the Communications team at Northeastern University in Boston. I oversaw a team of reporters producing digital journalism for a broad audience. The content drove readership while advancing the university’s mission of experiential learning, research, globalization, entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence.

That role gave me another perspective on what it takes to compete for people’s attention in a rapidly changing media environment.

Now, I’m back in Central Massachusetts and returning to business news.

We want to hear from you. Please reach out and tell us what types of stories you want to read in Central Massachusetts’ leading source of business news. Tell us who is shaping your business, fueling the local economy, creating jobs and developing innovative projects.

I’m excited to join the Worcester Business Journal team and look forward to engaging with the business community.
