The U.S. Department of Commerce said new orders for U.S. manufacturers’ expensive, durable goods increased by 0.6 percent in April.
The department also revised its March durable goods numbers to a 5 percent increase, a six-month high. The department had previously estimated a 4.3 percent increase for March.
According to the department, the 0.6 percent increase for April was smaller than expected, due to fewer orders for automobiles and civilian aircraft, which saw increases in March.
