Framingham-based Diligent Technologies Corp. has signed a deal with Sun Microsystems that allows Sun to sell certain Diligent “de-duplication” software.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sun will sell Diligent’s ProtecTIER software, a disk-based data protection system made for data centers. Diligent specializes in de-duplication, a method of filtering out data that is no longer needed from computer networks. According to the company, its disk-based system is more reliable and cheaper than other, tape-based systems.
The agreement gives Diligent, which was established in 2002, the opportunity to take advantage of Sun’s growing customer base.
