Digital food hall Wonder opens three Central Mass. locations

Wonder, a New York City-based fast-food chain serving meals from dozens of unique restaurants at each location, has expanded its presence in Central Massachusetts with the opening of three new restaurants.

Wonder now has locations on 571 Worcester Road in Framingham, 219 N. Main St. in Natick, and 145 Great Road in Acton, according to its website.

Wonder restaurants serve meals from established eateries across the country, such as Atlanta-based Fred’s Meat & Bread and Texas-based Tejas Barbecue, by licensing recipes from each individual restaurant. Wonder assembles meals at its New Jersey facility, which are then heated and served at each location.

Additionally, Wonder partners with chefs to create their own Wonder ghost kitchens, serving meals only available at Wonder restaurants.

As a digital food hall, customers can order in-store or through the Wonder app, with the ability to combine items from multiple Wonder-owned ghost kitchens in each order.

While Wonder meals are available for dine-in and takeout, the chain uses a delivery-first model. Offering free delivery, Wonder operates like food delivery platforms DoorDash and Grubhub, delivering orders from Wonder locations and local restaurants, including independent eateries like Nan’s Kitchen and chains like Taco Bell.

Wonder is the owner of Grubhub, having completed its acquisition of the food delivery platform in 2025 for $650 million.

The Wonder locations in Framingham and Natick opened on Feb. 12, and the Acton location opened on Thursday, according to Patch.

Wonder is slated to open three more Massachusetts restaurants in March, located in Canton, Newton, and Watertown, according to its website. Additional locations in Burlington, Brookline, and North Andover are slated for opening in April and May.
