DEP Fines NJ Trucking Co. For Late Spill Report

A New Jersey company that flipped a truck on I-84 in Sturbridge in Oct. 2006 has been fined $3,200 by the state Department of Environmental Protection.

A truck owned by Keystone Freight Co. of New Jersey rolled into the median on I-84 more than a year ago and spilled 30 gallons of diesel into the median. CYN Oil Corp. notified DEP on behalf of Keystone, but before five hours had passed, in violation of the state’s two-hour reporting window.
