Wayland-based National Dentex Corp., reported $2.4 million in net income for the second quarter, an increase of 4.2 percent over the same quarter a year ago.
The company said its operating income for the quarter was $4.8 million, an increase of 12.2 percent.
The increases in income were underpinned by significant sales increases. The company said its second quarter sales were $44.4 million, a 16.6 percent increase over the same period the previous year.
The company, which is one of the country’s largest owner/operators of dental laboratories, said the sales and income increases were the result of new productivity initiatives.
