Maynard-based Convergence Inc. announced today that its CXC network access tool will now support IBM BladeCenter applications.
The move comes as more businesses are looking to grow data centers or update their infrastructure, but are facing power and space limitations, Convergence said.
IBM’s “blades” embed applications and high power capacity into a tiny, blade-sized device, which in turn saves space and reduces power consumption.
“By teaming up with IBM, Convergence extends the CXC’s real-time security and management capabilities to a next-generation form factor that enables enterprises to improve use of space and power conservation,” said Joe McGarvey, senior analyst for New York-based market research firm Heavy Reading. “With the Convergence-IBM BladeCenter solution, users can access operational applications and best-of-breed network security solutions through a single, cost-efficient device, further facilitating the widespread adoption of IP communications.”
