Clark University in Worcester is launching a master of education program aimed at practicing teachers who wish to further hone their skills in the classroom.
The school, which says more than 200 alumni work in Worcester Public Schools, aims to entice local educators with a discount: WPS teachers are eligible for three free courses within the program, Clark announced Wednesday.
The curriculum emphasizes research to improve educational practice and promote equitable learning across diverse settings.
The new master’s program is available on a full- or part-time basis and will require 10 courses in total. Some of those courses may be tailored to fit each student’s teaching discipline. The program, which concludes with a research project, can be completed within a year.
Designed for current teachers, the master of education differs from the school’s separate master of arts in teaching, which prepares students for teaching licensure.
U.S. applications are due July 15. International applications are due June 1.
