Worcester’s Clark University has broken ground on its $15 million new Academic Commons at Goddard Library project, which aims to turn the aging library into a high-tech educational facility.
The library was built in 1969. It will be renovated and an 11,000-square-foot addition will be built with a new entrance facing the campus green.
When complete, the new facility will be able to accommodate research and teaching with multi-media capabilities. The school hopes the new facility will help increase enrollment and raise Clark’s profile.
The project is expected to be complete in the summer of 2009.
