The number of CEOs leaving their positions is up 10 percent during this quarter from the same timeframe last year, according to outsourcing firm Challenger Gray & Christmas.
The number of CEOs bolting in March dropped about 10 percent compared to a 17-month high in February.
For the quarter, there have been 340 departures, up from 309 a year earlier.
The health care sector led the nation in CEO turnover in the quarter with 56 departures.
