Wayland and Natick are two communities expected to benefit from wireless network upgrades by AT&T Inc. in coming months, the company said.
The communications giant, whose Massachusetts operations are based in Westford, said it is investing $71 million in wireless infrastructure upgrades this year, including a dozen new GSM towers and 171 high-speed 3G network cell sites across the state.
As part of the enhancements, wireless coverage along Route 20 in Wayland and Route 16 in South Natick will be enhanced, the company said. Later this year, the company said it plans to introduce its 3G network coverage to Springfield and Worcester.
