SynQor Inc. of Boxborough has settled a year-long patent litigation dispute with another company, the firm announced.
Terms of the agreement with Lineage Power Corp. are confidential. In its suit, SynQor, a manufacturer of electrical components, claimed infringements of five patents against 11 suppliers of unregulated and semi-regulated bus converters, including Lineage, according to a statement from SynQor. In a unanimous verdict in January 2011, a federal jury found that each of the 11 defendants infringed one or more of SynQor’s patents and awarded damages of more than $114 million. The court also issued a permanent injunction against the defendants, in effect stopping them from making and selling products that that violated SynQor’s patents.
Nine months later, SynQor filed a second complaint against the companies, charging that they violated terms of the injunction. The companies, including Lineage, appealed the case. But as part of the agreement, Lineage has agreed to drop its appeal and comply with the injunction.
