SynQor’s move to a facility at 9 Northeastern Boulevard in Salem, New Hampshire, is taking place between this past Sunday and April 1.
Power conversion manufacturer SynQor is moving its corporate headquarters out of Boxborough and into New Hampshire as the firm plans to lay off more than 250 employees.
SynQor’s move to a facility at 9 Northeastern Boulevard in Salem, New Hampshire, is taking place between this past Sunday and April 1, according to the company’s Nov. 21 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter.
While positions and jobs at the manufacturer’s Boxborough facility will transfer to the company’s new site, 256 employees at SynQor's Massachusetts facility will be laid off. The 100,000-square-foot Boxborough site, located at 155 Swanson Road, will close once the move is complete.
SynQor will lay off employees throughout 63 roles, including the C-suite positions of the company’s CFO and chief technology officer. Production assemblers will be the most affected, with 86 employees being let go from their roles.
The workers are not represented by a union and will receive a 60-day notice of position transfer, according to SynQor’s letter.
The company has between 500 and 1,000 employees, according to business data provider Crunchbase.
WBJ has reached out to SynQor for additional details about the move.
Founded in 1997, SynQor was originally headquartered in Hudson. The company manufactures converters for industries including aerospace, transportation, telecommunications, and medical sectors, according to the company’s website.
The manufacturer has additional locations in Texas and the United Kingdom.
