Marlborough-based medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific has been hit by a cyberattack, the company announced Wednesday.
The cyberattack was detected on Tuesday and resulted in a network outage and disruption to company operations, Boston Scientific said. The company is working to contain and investigate the threat.
Boston Scientific said the incident has impacted some of its operating systems and business applications, including its ability to ship customer orders. The company has submitted a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which requires reporting of any material cybersecurity incidents.
The company does not yet have a timeline for the full restoration of its operations.
Trading on the New York Stock Exchange, Boston Scientific’s stock price is around $47.50 as of Wednesday morning, down about 4.7% from opening.
