The Chicken & Rice Guys, a Boston-based restaurant that has expanded from a single food truck into a fleet of vehicles and four physical locations, is now serving lunch from a Downtown Worcester cafe.
The Chicken & Rice Guys’ offerings of chicken, gyro, or tofu over rice will now be served from Cafe Nexus at 6 Waldo St. from Monday to Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Customers can also order for delivery through services that include UberEats and DoorDash, according to an announcement from Chicken & Rice Guys on Thursday.
Lunch plates generally cost between $8 to $13, according to the company’s website.
The business began in 2012 as a food truck that would set up shop in different spots around the Boston area to meet the lunch time needs of workers.
After growing in popularity, Chicken & Rice Guys opened their first storefront in 2015 in Boston, according to Eater. It now operates a total of three brick-and-mortar restaurants in Boston, and an additional location in Everett.
The company still operates its food trucks at rotating locations around the Greater Boston area, and was recently at one of the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District’s Out to Lunch events held on Worcester Common during the summer.
Chicken & Rice Guys said in a social media comment the restaurant is operating in Worcester on a trial basis for the next few months.
