Natick-based BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. said sales for August increased by 6.4 percent to $661.7 million from $622.2 million in August 2006.
Same-store sales increased by 1.4 percent over August 2006, and included a negative impact of 2.4 percent from the sale of gasoline and a negative impact of 0.4 percent from the absence of pharmacy sales.
In 2006, the Company reported a same-store sales increase of 2.3 percent for August, including a contribution from sales of gasoline of 1.2 percent.
