Kevin Hussey has been promoted to the role of senior vice president of credit and risk administration at Worcester-based Bay State Bank.
Hussey brings more than 35 years of experience with financial services and commercial credit to his new role, having most recently served as Bay State’s vice president, credit administration officer. His promotion comes following the retirement of Joyce Shand, Bay State announced Friday.
Hussey was responsible for underwriting $35 million in new commercial loans in 2025, according to Bay State.Â
He joined the firm from TD Bank, where he served as vice president, portfolio manager/credit specialist. Hussey’s other prior employers include BJ’s Wholesale Club, Fresenius USA, and First National Bank of Boston. Hussey graduated from Babson College, receiving bachelor’s degrees in finance/investments and economics.
Hussey serves as a commissioner of the Elm Hill Water District in Auburn and was chairman of the Town of Auburn’s Finance Committee for two decades. He serves on the board of the Massachusetts Association of Football Officials.Â
Bay State is the 21st-largest bank in Central Massachusetts, according to information provided to the WBJ Research Department, with $494.2 million in local deposits and $585.4 million as of June 2025.
Bay State has seven branch locations, including a new branch in Shrewsbury’s White City Plaza opened in 2025.
