The Auburn Chamber of Commerce has organized its first health care expo in response to small businesses in its membership scrambling to comply with the state’s new health care reform law.
The chamber’s expo is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Jan. 16 at the Hogan Campus Center at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. The event will seek to clear up any lingering questions about what businesses must do to comply with the health care reform law, and will cover topics like fair share contributions and filing deadlines.
Under the new law, all Massachusetts residents were required to be covered by health insurance by July 1. A significant share of that responsibility fell to employers, which were required to cover, at least in part, uninsured employees.
