April ad revenue slips at Times Co.

The New York Times Co., owner of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, reported a 3.3 percent decline in April advertising revenue for its New England Media Group compared to April 2006.

The company as a whole reported April advertising revenue from continued operations fell by 3.6 percent compared to April a year ago. Additionally, total company revenue fell 2.2 percent compared to the previous year.

The company’s New York Times Media Group saw advertising revenue decrease 3.8 percent, and its Regional Media Group’s ad revenue fell 9.1 percent in April.

The company also reported an April decrease of 0.7 percent in circulation revenue, and an increase in internet ad revenue of 15.6 percent.
