The term “sweat equity” is widely used to describe the effort in building a business. One of our honorees in this, our 20th Business Leader of the Year awards, himself an endurance athlete, knows about sweat at different levels. “Building a company is an endurance sport, at the end of the day,” says Doron Reuveni, of uTest, in Framingham.
That may well describe at least most of the business leaders whom we have honored for their successes since 1995. As we do every year, we tell the unique stories of how three leaders have succeeded and how one entity shines out for its contributions to the community, earning our Corporate Citizen award.
We thank Nichols College’s Graduate & Professional Studies division for its help in determining our Corporate Citizen of the Year honoree.
Here are this year’s honorees:
– Small business: Doron Reuveni, uTest
– Large business: Valentin Gapontsev, IPG Photonics
– Nonprofit: Matthias Waschek, Worcester Art Museum
– Corporate Citizen: Consigli Construction
