AE Regional Distribution Co., a subsidiary of apparel company American Eagle Outfitters, is closing its Devens fulfillment facility, laying off 103 employees in the process.
AE Regional, formerly known as Quiet Logistics, will close its site at 64 Jackson Road, terminating workers’ employment from April 12 through May 6, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter sent to the state on Feb. 11.
The largest portion of impacted employees are warehouse associates, with AE Regional reporting 67 will be laid off.
American Eagle did not return WBJ’s request for comment.
“We understand this is a difficult transition,” Michael Boyzuick, Quiet’s vice president, edge delivery, wrote in the WARN letter.
AE Regional is recommending impacted employees contact MassHire Rapid Response Team for search assistance, unemployment insurance information, and workshops.
MassHire Rapid Response Teams operate under the state’s Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, supporting employers and workers to navigate layoffs, according to the servicer’s website.
After its founding in 2009, Quiet Logistics was acquired by American Eagle Outfitters in December 2021 for $360 million in cash. The third-party logistics provider became a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Eagle after the acquisition and continued to operate independently, according to a Dec. 29, 2021 press release from the retailer.
