Advertising is everywhere

A national poll of 250 advertising and marketing executives found that almost half of them check in with the office on a daily basis when taking time off.

The survey was conducted by The Creative Group of Menlo Park, Calif., a division of national staffing company Robert Half International Inc.

The poll asked advertising and marketing executives how often they checked in with the office while on vacation. Only 13 percent of executives answered “never.”

Dave Wilmer, executive director of The Creative Group, offered several tips for truly getting away from the office, including timing trips to begin when workload is light, telling clients and co-workers about your trip in advance, handing off some duties to trusted colleagues and leaving laptops and PDAs at home.
