Wintriss Controls Group, an Acton-based automation machinery manufacturer, has named its first new president in 15 years, promoting the firm’s general manager to the leading role.
Keith Magnant stepped into his presidential role on Jan. 1 following the retirement of Mark Hatch, who held the position for 15 years of his 45-year tenure with Wintriss, according to a Friday press release from the manufacturer.
“It’s an honor to follow in Mark’s footsteps, and I’m excited to carry forward all his success. Having served as general manager for several years, I know our teams and customers well, making this a natural transition in leadership,” Magnant said in the release.
Before assuming his most recent title of general manager, Magnant served as Wintriss’ sales manager and director of sales and marketing throughout his 12-year career with the manufacturer.
“My job as president is to continue delivering quality products, meeting customer commitments and supporting our organization. I look forward to growing Wintriss and bringing the company’s products to new markets,” Magnant said.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Salem State University, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Magnant’s appointment comes shortly after Wintriss acquired ISB in October, a Canada-based manufacturer of metal forming safety equipment.
“We are excited to advance the ISB legacy by combining the capabilities of two top safety product companies to form one indisputable leader in metal forming safety control,” Magnant said in a Jan. 12 press release. “ISB has many years of proven expertise in light curtain and press brake guarding technology, making them an ideal fit alongside our leading Shadow Light Curtain line, while further strengthening our combined brands as the preeminent safety solution in metal forming.”
